DJ Takes a Dip in the East River ...
Eric Shapiro - NY Press - 8/9/2010
Lose your job? Go through a rough breakup? Swim in the East River! It worked for Philippe Treuille. According to the New York Post, the 28-year-old DJ swam from Houston Street to East 26th Street after stowing his possessions in a nearby flower pot. “I didn’t go to sleep last night, and I was feeling kind of sad because I got ditched by a girl,” he explained to the NYPD officers who fished him out of the drink.
Apparently, he had contemplated taking the plunge for some time, but did not actually go through with it until a passerby encouraged him. Nothing like providing a fellow New Yorker with some sound advice.
