Want to pretend you’re involved in the wake of a crisis, er, I mean show your totally informed, long-term dissatisfaction with government deregulation of the oil industry in general and the company responsible for the Gulf oil spill in particular? Then buy an anti-BP T-shirt! Apparently, they were sold on Orchard Street this past Sunday in two different varieties: “BP Sucks,” and “Bringing Pollution, One Ocean at a Time.”
What better way to help end the oil spill fiasco than by giving money to street vendors? You can also try this thing called the Internet; rumor is you can find almost anything there. Another option: Donate money to the folks responsible for cleaning up the mess or volunteer your labor or your boat to the cleanup effort. But if you want a totally sacrifice-free way to show that you care more about making a statement than making a difference, buy a T-shirt. Or blog about it. I hear that really helps.
